Healing Quest Counselling
Trauma-Informed Counselling, EMDR, & Somatic Therapy | Maple Ridge. BC
Kirsten Boulier, MSW, RCSW
Trauma Therapist / Clinical Social Worker
Approach
Kirsten approaches trauma therapy with a deep curiosity about each client’s inner world. She genuinely enjoys getting to know people through their own lens and believes every person has a unique story worth understanding. Learning about a client’s resilience and lived experience is a privilege she holds with great respect.
Kirsten provides trauma therapy services to youth and adults across BC through online sessions and sees clients in person in Maple Ridge, BC. Her approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based therapies. She believes healing is possible… and that it can unfold at a safe, steady pace.
Kirsten also values the role of joy and laughter in the counselling process. Once clients feel comfortable, she creates space for humour in the work. Healing can be messy and beautiful… approaching the process with a light heart can make the journey feel more manageable.
Who She Helps
Kirsten specializes in supporting people who want to:
Heal from challenging childhoods and complex trauma
Build a stronger sense of self
Create a rich, meaningful life they can feel excited about
Kirsten’s work is rooted in EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), mindfulness, and other evidence-based approaches. Her process focuses on building safety and stability first, before moving into deeper healing work.
Why Kirsten Does This Work
Kirsten came to this work through her own experiences of adversity and healing, which gives her a deeply personal understanding of the process.
From 2017–2022, she lived on Nuxalk Territory in Bella Coola, B.C., where she worked with children, youth, and adults healing from intergenerational and complex developmental trauma. That time was meaningful and immersive, and it continues to shape how she holds space for healing today.
Now living in the Lower Mainland, Kirsten is grateful to be reconnecting with her own family while continuing to support clients across BC.
My Story Beyond the Therapy Room
When she isn’t meeting with clients or working on her private practice, Kirsten enjoys spending time in nature with her four-legged co-therapist, Aussie.
She values mindful movement and creativity as part of her own self-care, and loves singing, exploring new places, and learning about different cultures.
