Hi, I’m Kirsten.
Registered Clinical Social Worker | Trauma Therapy & EMDR
Kirsten Boulier, MSW, RCSW
Trauma Therapist, Practice Owner
My Approach
I bring exploratory curiosity to my trauma therapy practice and absolutely love getting to know clients through their own lens. Every person has a unique story to tell, and learning about each client’s resiliency and lived experience is a privilege I deeply respect.
I provide trauma therapy services to youth and adults across BC (online) and see clients in-person in Maple Ridge, BC. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based therapies. I believe that healing is possible - and that it can happen at a safe, steady pace.
There is so much to be gained from joy and laughter. Once clients feel comfortable with me, I create space for humour in the counselling process. Healing is both messy and beautiful - and going in with a light heart can make the journey easier.
Who I Help
I specialize in supporting people who want to:
Heal from challenging childhoods and complex trauma
Build a stronger sense of self
Create a rich, meaningful life they can feel excited about
My work is rooted in EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), mindfulness, and other evidence-based approaches. Together, we create safety and stability before exploring deeper healing.
Why I Do This Work
I came to this work through my own experiences of adversity and healing, so I have a deeply personal understanding of the process.
From 2017–2022, I lived on beautiful Nuxalk Territory in Bella Coola, B.C., working with children, youth, and adults to heal intergenerational and complex developmental trauma. That time was meaningful, immersive, and shaped how I hold space for healing today.
Now living in the Fraser Valley, I’ve been grateful to reconnect with my own family while continuing to support clients across BC.
My Story Beyond the Therapy Room
When I’m not meeting with clients or working on my private practice, I love spending time in nature with my four‑legged co-therapist, Aussie.
I love to include mindful movement and creativity in my own self‑care routine. And I also love singing, and exploring new places and cultures.

You are not broken - you are becoming. Healing is messy, beautiful, and absolutely possible.
