Peer consultation in Maple Ridge

Clinical thinking is the heart of the gathering.

The Maple Ridge Peer Consultation & Connection Community brings local mental health professionals together to think collaboratively about cases, clinical questions, ethical dilemmas and the challenges that arise in counselling and psychotherapy.

Presenters bring the clinical context they want the group to understand, then we think together. The aim is not to establish who has the “right” answer. We use questions, observations, alternative conceptualizations and relevant clinical perspectives to help one another see the work more clearly.

When a presenter is looking for practical ideas, the group can also share interventions, resources and approaches that may be worth considering.

Who is this for?

The community is designed for appropriately trained mental health clinicians practising in Maple Ridge and the surrounding Ridge Meadows area, including:

  • Registered Clinical Counsellors (RCCs)
  • Registered Therapeutic Counsellors (RTCs)
  • Registered Social Workers (RSWs)
  • Registered Clinical Social Workers (RCSWs)
  • Registered Psychologists (R.Psych.)
  • Other qualified counsellors and psychotherapists whose scope includes counselling or psychotherapy
How it works

A professional community without another standing commitment.

1. Join the invitation list

Add your name once and receive a monthly invitation. There is no membership fee and no expectation that you attend every gathering.

2. RSVP when it works

Each gathering is capped at six people so there is enough space for real conversation and useful case consultation.

3. Think together

Gatherings are facilitated and typically include introductions, a brief clinical or ethical prompt, and one or two focused peer consultations.

Connection matters too

Know the clinicians practising around you.

Private practice can be professionally isolating. The community creates a recurring place to meet other local therapists, understand one another’s areas of work, and build relationships that support better referral sharing and stronger professional connection.

Peer consultation remains the central activity. Connection is what helps make the room thoughtful, generous and useful.

“Safe, heard, seen, less alone.”

Want to bring a case?

You do not need to prepare a formal presentation. Come with the relevant case information top of mind—who the client is, what has been going on, what you have noticed or tried, and what you would like us to think about with you.

Cases do not need to be situations where you feel “stuck.” You may simply want to hear how other clinicians conceptualize or approach the work.
